I don't care if Nintendo has a million different changes to their existing handhelds or consoles. I'm all for it, variety and options are what I'm screaming for. I can't help to think that it kinda looks like Nintendo is going backwards on this one. You may have a child with ADHD that breaks everything and this might be a way to keep the little shits away from your precious 3DS. Here kids here is a block, go play in your room with it for a few years and leave mommy and me to some dirty alone time. For the record I don't have a wife or kids so this would not appeal to me. Why would it then? Hmm, maybe I don't want to pay 40 more dollars for a nice folding 3DS that has the option to turn the 3D off? Come on Nintendo 40 dollars is not that much more. This to me makes the 3D component look cheap to Nintendo, wouldn't it be better to market the 3D part as a hundred dollars more. Not even a 99 dollar 2DS, now that sounds like a deal to me. Fuck I would be tempted to go buy one right away since I don't have a 3DS. The reason I don't have one is because the 3D shit doesn't sound interesting at all. I have sampled it, still not in need of it yet. So if they think they are losing out on sales because of the 3D stuff I am one of the people on the graph charts. More like not enough gem games for it yet chart to be specific. I want to wait till the end of the 3DS life to then consider all the good games that it might have and all the money I save with the 3DS when it is 80 dollars new at the store. Oh and upgraded for players to hook it up to a tv or have a vibrating hole to put something into it. I can see it now, it would be called Nintenholebrater1D.
Being in need of it might come to some people on the day the Link to the Past remake comes out. I can't even remember what they're calling it. Something like a Link to your wallet I think. That crap where you turn into wall paint and walk along walls is really turning me off and that looks like a big component in the game.
I bet Nintendo is itching hard to put out another original handheld and I have the feeling they already have it ready to go. Since the 3DS is relatively young that would be a major shit on consumers and I think they know it. They could be making more money and they are now stuck with waiting out the usually 5 years for another console or handheld. Though I read a Miyamoto interview which he stated that 3DS is an extension of the DS family, when he was explaining the new handheld being worked on. So in other words the life span is included with DS years. Kinda bullshit to me since 3DS has it's own games and people payed for an entirely new handheld that cost even more than the DS. Both the 3DS and DS are basically the same thing with the 3D turned off. I want to play some of the 3DS games and that is total bullshit because I have a DS that I payed big bucks for. All of these 3DS games should also be available for DS without the 3D since you can play them without 3D on 3DS. Not putting out a 2DS. This is probably the biggest fucking over Nintendo has ever done. I bought my DS lite right before 3DS was announced. I payed for a time frame and that was for the past games and not future games. FUCK THAT SHIT!! I could go and sell my DS lite and then go buy a 3DS so I can find out two days later that Nintendo will be focusing new game development on a new handheld. No wonder people didn't buy so many 3DS units. People will only be fooled so far no matter how stupid they might be. Nintendo will have to change the tricks, which they do.
If Nintendo fails to compete with Sony and Microsoft in the future, I would think they could survive the handheld business. Since they don't meet Sony or Microsoft console hardware specs maybe they might consider making a handheld that has all of Nintendo games available on it which would also be able to stream to the television like Wii U. It should be that way anyways even if Nintendo has a console or not. Why the fuck don't they stream 3DS or DS games through the Wii U? The Wii U pad is basically a large DS for shit sake. Which now I realize they wouldn't be able to sell so many XL versions if they allowed TV streaming. This shit gets tricky. Nintendo you savvy sons of bitches.
The XL version of 3DS and DS is cool shit and that was a nice offer to be had. The 2DS is priced a little too high in my opinion and if they can't go lower because they need some padding room for price drops which will be soon in my opinion, this price range is geared towards people that will want the new Zelda or Pokemon. This might bump up the sales a little bit more since their are incredibly dumb cheap people out there. The Zelda game is not really a child game so the breaking the handheld issue is not a case here. A good game to come out with this handheld would be something along the lines of Nintendogs, something that 7 year old soda pop sticky hand little girls would beg parents for. I'm thinking that they are making money off these 2DS systems and I think they will make money off the cover case since people will be worried about scratching the screens, since it NOW doesn't awesomely for your new entertainment fold. I seriously doubt that more than 2% of the gaming population will care that it is a tablet. It does stir up a buzz for Nintendo since they have been having bad publicity and are struggling against the new console releases coming up. Nintendo has foresight and they have a long term plan. As long as they can keep in business I'm all for them ripping people off. They have a standard of quality and that means something to me. Nintendo struggles because of this. I'm with you Nintendo, I would suck dicks to keep you alive. I won't buy a 2DS though.
